What is Gamma?
Gamma is an AI-assisted platform for creating presentations, documents and websites. It can turn a prompt, outline or existing file into a presentation you can develop and edit, which suits a first proposal, lesson or internal briefing when you already know the message. Free-plan PDF and PPTX exports carry a Made by Gamma badge, and facts still need checking before you present.
What can you create with Gamma?
Gamma combines content drafting and presentation design in one workspace. You can bring a short brief or outline and use the result as a structure to revise, rather than beginning from an empty slide. Its support for existing files also makes it relevant when the input is a document or older deck that needs a clearer story.
For a proposal, start with the customer problem and decision you want the audience to make. For a teaching deck, start with the learning outcome and examples. These are suggested uses, not measured results: the important question is whether the generated sequence helps explain your material without adding claims you cannot support.
Try a short presentation brief
Suggested workflow: prepare a one-page brief with the audience, desired decision, approved facts and six key points. Ask for a compact presentation with one main message per slide. Read the outline before spending time on visual details; delete repeated ideas and restore any caveats that the draft has lost.
Replace generic examples with material you can substantiate. Then inspect hierarchy, contrast and text size at presentation distance. Export a short sample in the format you need and open it in the receiving application. Review the whole deck again after export, including charts and captions, so a successful web preview is not mistaken for a checked deliverable.
Gamma plans and export limits
Gamma offers a free plan with AI credits to begin. Its current comparison lists up to 10 slides per prompt on Free, PDF and PPTX import, and PDF, PPTX and PNG export. The export help explains that a PPTX file can also be uploaded to Google Slides. Paid plans add options such as branding removal and further customization.
The export help page says the Made by Gamma badge appears on Free-plan PDF and PPTX exports. Decide whether that matters before using a deck for a client presentation. If your task spans many design formats, compare Canva as another candidate; if the deliverable is a fixed corporate slide template, test a small export against that template before committing.
